are two powerful business devices armed with Linux, GPS, touchscreen
and a bunch of other goodies.
We have posted about these devices before while they were still in their rumors stage, but now it's as official as it gets.

The first information on the U430’s existence appeared thanks to its FCC approval. By its model number, we were able to guess that it will be the replacement of the U410. Now, we received information confirming this expectation. The
new model has identical specifications (still VGA 0.3MP camera and
128x160 internal display) but is slightly redesigned. It is a very
basic phone with capacity for 500 names, alarm, calendar and
calculator. It lacks any multimedia features. Expect it to be free with
a contract when it launches on the Verizon Wireless network.

RIM appears poised to launch the latest version of their Blackberry
Internet Service on June 28th. Most notably, this v2.5 upgrade will
finally bring native support for HTML email in preparation for the
upcoming 9xxx family of devices, such as the Bold and Thunder.
Other improvements should include OTA upgrades and some calendar
enhancements. Changes may not be backwards compatible with older
devices however, so to finally get HTML email you may still be forced
to upgrade your Blackberry. more on: BGR

T-Mobile announced that it will begin prorating its early termination
fees. Rather than deduct a dollar amount each month, T-Mobile has taken
a different route. ETFs for both one- and two-year agreements are $200.
During the last 3 to 6 months of a contract (91 to 180 days left), the
ETF drops to $100. During the last 3 months of a contact (30 days to 90
days), the ETF drops to $50. For customers who choose to cancel a
contract with less than 30 days remaining, they will pay either $50 or
the amount of the last month of service, whichever is less. This means
customers who are in the first 6 months (for 1-year contracts) or first
18 months (for 2-year contracts) of their agreements will still have to
pay the full $200 ETF to cancel. from T-Mobile

23rd June 2008, 10:12 AM by Eric M. Zeman According
to CNet, Infosys was recently granted a patent for technology that
would enable devices such as mobile phones to take, send and receive 3D
images. The way the technology works is, a cameraphone would take a
series of standard 2D images. A processor using Infosys' Fourier
transformations then calculates and renders a 3D image based on the
data present in the 2D images without losing resolution. Part of
Infosys' recent patent includes a way for such files to be compressed
and sent through current Internet pipes. The images could then be
displayed and/or projected onto a 3D screen with the right combination
of hardware. Infosys believes this technology will be widespread by the
year 2010. more at CNet » /

T-Mobile announced two more phones that are compatible with its HotSpot
@Home converged cellular/Wi-Fi calling service. HotSpot @Home, first
launched a year ago, allows T-Mobile subscribers to make unlimited
phone calls via a Wi-Fi hotspot in their homes for a monthly surcharge.
The Nokia 6301 and Samsung T339 are both tri-band 850/1800/1900

Motorola officially unveiled the MOTOZINE ZN5. The ZN5 is a bar-style
phone similar in shape and appearance to the ROKR E8. The phone's
stand-out feature is its Kodak-branded 5 megapixel camera. The camera
has autofocus, and can focus on images in less than a second, allowing
you to take your picture quicker. It has a full flash, as well as
Kodak-approved optics. It carries Kodak's Easy Share software, and the
user interface for the camera was jointly developed with Motorola and
Kodak to ease operation. The software supports a lot of editing
features, panorama shooting mode, and easy sharing with social
networking sites. All functions related to the camera are color-coded
purple, and the keypad morphs when in camera mode to show
camera-specific buttons. The ZN5 carries quad-ba
