Samsung announced its new simple QWERTY phone, the Messager SCH-R450. It is the successor of the R410 and has similar form-factor, improved features and larger dimensions. It is side-sliding, revealing the full hardware keyboard. On its front are a 2.1” 176x220 pixels display and a numeric keypad. Messager is designed as an easy to use phone for text messages, email and instant messengers. It features 1.3-megapixel camera (the R410 had 0.3MP one), Stereo Bluetooth and headset jack, microSD slot for memory and support for CDMA AWS band. MetroPCS is the first carrier to offer it, at $199, but Cricket will follow, judging by the Cricket manual Samsung has on its site.

<A href="http://www.phonearena.com/htmls/Samsung-Messager-p...

Samsung i7110 is a Symbian smartphone

The Samsung i7110 is obviously UMTS-enabled (a video call camera on the front) and it packs a 5 megapixel auto focus camera lens on the back. A flash is also present - but we can't really tell whether it's a xenon one or a regular LED one.

Samsung i7110 sports an all-metal design

The battery cover seems to be all-metal following the design of the Samsung Soul b. There's a microSD memory card slot on left side. A bit of a letdown is they will be using the proprietary Samsung connectivity port instead of the universal microUSB variety found on the Samsung i8510 INNOV8.

We are really looking forward to getting some official info on the Samsung i7110 in the near future. And we also hope that GPS or at least Wi-Fi is on board.

5th August 2008, 9:19 AM by Eric M. Zeman

Delta Airlines said it will offer Wi-Fi broadband Internet access on its entire U.S. fleet by the middle of 2009. Delta is using technology provided by Aircell, which recently said it will use LTE to provide 4G connectivity speeds to its airline customers. The service will be rolled out on Delta's McDonnell Douglas aircraft first, followed by its Boeing aircraft. Customers will be able to use their Wi-Fi-equipped smartphones, PDAs and laptops to connect to the Internet during flights. Delta will charge $10 for access on all flights under 3 hours and $13 for flights longer than three hours.
