Linux Phone Standards (LiPS) Forum has decided to join forces with the
LiMo Foundation, and will fold all its activities into LiMo starting in
July. The two organizations, both of which are promoting Linux on
mobile handsets, will be able to pool resources and hope to concentrate
efforts on creating a standard mobile Linux operating system for
phones. Any platform created by the new cooperative faces competition
from Google's Android platform and the newly-formed Symbian Foundation,
