Samsung B2700 is rugged phone, M3510 is for music | 9:42 PM |
The
Czech site Mobil.cz revealed the first information on two new Samsung
phones that are still unannounced. These are the first phones of the
manufacturer to use a new modeling scheme; until now, Samsung used a
three-symbol prefix (SGH- for GSM, SCH- for CDMA with BREW and SPH- for
CDMA with Java) and a model made of a letter and three-digit number.
From now on, it will use two-symbol prefix (GT- for GSM, the rest are
still unknown) and a model with a letter and four digits. Of course,
flagship models will have a name (word), in addition to the model, so
they will be easier to remember.

is a rugged candybar made to last. It has protection class IP54, which
means it is dust and splash resistant. It also features a compass,
pedometer and altimeter, and a light (torch). B2700 has 1.9” 176x220
pixels display, 2-megapixel camera, FM radio, Bluetooth and microSD

GT-M3510 is also
candybar, but a slim one targeted to the music fans. It measures 9.9mm
in thickness, has 3.5mm jack, music keys between the numeric pad and
the display, and FM radio. For music storage, it has only 20MB but also
features a microSD slot.
Both of the new Samsungs phones are
expected on the European market in the end of the summer, at a price of
about 210 EUR ($332).
