Openmoko announced that the Neo FreeRunner mobile phone will go on sale
starting Monday, July 7. The FreeRunner has been under development for
over a year and is based on an open GNU/Linux platform. It will be
available in two tri-band configurations, one 850/1800/1900 for North
America and the other 900/1800/1900 for other regions. The final specs
of the device include 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0, two 3-way motion
sensors, a 2.8-inch VGA touch screen and a-GPS. The phone will come
with basic core phone software, and Openmoko will make additional
features available over time through firmware updates. The Neo
