number of mobile network operators, including 3 Group, AT&T,
T-Mobile, Telenor, Telefonica, Telecom Italia and Vodafone, have
announced a new initiative to help speed the development of mobile
applications across multiple platforms. The new entity will be called
Bondi. They will create a secure web services interface that can be
used by all web developers across multiple device platforms. The goal
is to make sure developers have access to all the features on mass
market handsets and have a simpler way to reach them with their
applications. Bondi falls under the umbrage of the Open Mobile Terminal
Platform organization. more at OMTP ยป
